Introduction
2024 was a year of building practical Azure solutions. Through my Premium Membership Program on kaidojarvemets.com, I focused on creating tools that solve real problems in Azure environments. From security monitoring to automation.
The final count for 2024: 42 premium publications, including 24 PowerShell scripts, 13 complete solutions, 3 community solutions, and the first chapters of my hybrid-cloud management book. Each piece of content came from hands-on experience managing hybrid-cloud at scale.
Security Tools
I built several security monitoring solutions in 2024:
- Windows LAPS monitoring solution with Microsoft Sentinel integration
- Active Directory delegation monitoring toolkit
- Entra ID Authentication Methods workbook for Microsoft Sentinel
- Defender for Identity health monitoring through Microsoft Graph API
Azure Arc Management
Azure Arc became a major focus of my work. I created tools for:
- Service Principal expiry monitoring and alerting
- Run Command security controls for tier-0 assets
- Automated health checks for connected machines
- Extension deployment automation for Defender for Endpoint
PowerShell Automation
I wrote PowerShell scripts targeting common Azure management tasks:
- Backing up and restoring Azure maintenance configurations
- Managing Data Collection Rules without rebuilds
- Documenting Azure Logic Apps configurations
- Processing large Azure resource sets (1000+ items)
- Managing system-assigned identity permissions with Excel export
Microsoft Sentinel Solutions
For Sentinel users, I developed:
- Windows Server common event analysis toolkit
- Authentication monitoring workbooks
- Data Collection Rules monitoring solution
- Defender for Identity integration tools
Hybrid-Cloud Management Book
I started writing my first technical book, focusing on hybrid-cloud management. Two chapters are available now for premium members, covering Azure Arc server management and monitoring strategies.
Community Solutions
Three solutions came from collaboration with the community:
- Defender for Cloud PowerShell module
- Azure Arc Connected Agent Management toolkit
- Azure maintenance automation scripts
Looking Forward
In 2025, I’ll keep building Azure security and hybrid-cloud solutions. My focus stays on creating practical automation tools and scripts that work in real environments. I’ll finish more chapters of the hybrid-cloud book and continue publishing new content that helps you manage Azure at scale.
